In December 2016, I travelled to Phuket with 2 of my classmates. We had a blast. Phuket, as ever before (I have been there twice with family), was vibrant and dynamic as usual. Here are some of the big-cost items during my trip.
I used Skyscanner to search for my flights. I flew using Jetstar from Singapore to Phuket on a return trip.
Costs & Durations
1. Singapore to Phuket [ 1 hour 55 minutes direct]
Total: SGD 190 /person (The price was unfortunately a little steep as we had booked late. You can get similar return flights for SGD 90 when you book early or through Jetstar’s Friday Frenzy sales.)
*Prices do not include check-in luggage, seat allocations or in-flight meals, all of which will incur extra charges
I used Booking.com to reserve my stay, which had free cancellation. Did you know that after 5 bookings at Booking.com, you unlock a Genius account, which gives you 10% off select accommodation? How cool is that!
We stayed in Patong Boutique Hotel for our trip. It was pretty neat hotel that was on the beachfront, just a close walk to the famous Bangla Street and other respective restaurants. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, rooms had hot water, brillant air-conditioning, reliable Wi-Fi, and the beds were a blessing. We definetely had a good sleep during our nights there.
Tip: The hotel itself is along the road by the beach. However, getting to the reception and the stairs up to your room requires a walk into a side road. You will pass by a massage parlour by the left when you walk along the path.
Cost: SGD 60 / night for a superior triple room (SGD20 /person/night)
